Meditation and Prayer

Goodness, I haven't posted in ages. Actually, it has only been a few days but it feels like ages.

I was extremely busy and just did not have the time. I'm currently on vacation so the posts should be a bit more regular.

I do spend a lot of my time in prayer and meditation. Both help me to "cope" with some extremely painful events in my life. For the first time, I have peace within, thanks to God's help. I also now have a frame of reference for when bad things happen. Unlike before my acceptance of Christ in my life when I would just make a decision and live with the consequences.

What do I pray for? It's easy really - most of my prayer is asking for help for family and friends that may need God's guidance and love. Other things:
  • Forgiveness
  • Mercy
  • Love
  • Guidance
  • Compassion
My meditation is where I work through bad events in my life - caused by both myself and others around me. The meditation is combined with journaling - allowing me to express my pain and anguish. When I look over the materials I have written I realize how out of whack my previous life was. I am working though forgiving folks for past and current transgressions and offering them compassion and mercy instead. I am also offering the same forgiveness for myself.
