With all of the news worldwide happening today, I wonder why my local paper choose to run mostly ads? I realize that the ads pay for the paper but it seemed like to me that most sections were only ads - with no or very little news articles.

I know that many papers are planning on going paperless. I am not sure that is a good idea. There are still large pockets of the population without or with little internet access.

There are also people, like myself, who enjoys the feel of paper.
