My phone quit. The line is still working or my DSL would be putz! I suspect that something in the hardware of the phone died - nothing as simple as the battery needing replaced.

For those folks who might call - call the cell phone or use Skype. Skype is a great alternative to a telephone, imho.

For the conspiracy theorists out there - the phone quit. There's no hidden agenda.

I'm not sure if I am replacing the phone or not. My main reason for having the phone is to keep my DSL working. I rarely get calls because I prefer email to anything else. We will see....
